If you are building a new home, renovating your current home, or are planning to make any changes to your existing heating and cooling system you will need a HERS test in order to remain compliant with California’s Title 24 code. Take a look at the different areas of your home affected by Title 24 compliance:

Kitchen: Kitchen appliances in the purview of Title 24, including any lighting, the oven range hood fans, and even the microwave.

HVAC/Bedroom: Updates or changes in your heating and cooling system, including ductwork, will require a HERS test.

Home Additions/Blueprint: Thinking of adding square footage to your home? You will need to update your HERS verifications by scheduling a test.

For Sale Sign: Selling your home? You’ll need to verify that your home is Title 24 compliant with a HERS verification.

Home Updates/Roof: Is it time to fix the roof over your head? Even for low-slope and steep-slope roofs, Title 24 requires that roofing material passes the Cool Roof Rating Council standards.
